Ferlin Husky, My Cousin: by Maddi

My cousin, Ferlin Husky, December 3, 1925 - March 17, 2011, was a number one top Country western music artist, singer, gutar player, actor and comedian during the 1950s and 1960s.He then toured until he was 85 years old. He topped the country western billboard, and had #1 hits, such as "Gone" and "Wings of a Dove". He starred in four movies in the 1950s - 1960s, and guest hosted talk/variety shows frequently. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He used the name, Simon Crum as his hayseed comedy character, and recorded some songs under the name Terry Preston He was a talented and funny man. We will miss him. He was 85 when he became ill and was taken to CCU at the hospital. He was in critical care for two weeks When he finally succomed to congestive heart failure.
