May Day at least in the USA is a time when people try and surprise their friends with baskets of flowers. Often they pick nice spring flowers put them in a container and then go to a neighbors house and put the flowers on the door then ring the door bell and run away and hide to see if the recipient knows who gave it to them. The great thing is not to get caught.
