Lua Warriors In Battle
Kapu Kuʻialua; Kuialua; or just Lua; is an ancient Hawai'ian martial art of bone breaking, emphasizing joint locks, throws, pressure point manipulation, strikes, and usage of various weapons to enhance battlefield strategy. Only those associated with the aliʻi (nobility), such as professional warriors, guardsmen, and the royal families themselves, were generally taught Kuʻialua. Women were also trained as Lua warriors and were called Moiwahines and battled alongside with their male comrades.
