The wheels of time keep turning round and round faster than we can count.One-year turns into another hardly before we have gotten to know it the year is gone. It doesn't seem to matter how bad the year has been or sad there is something rather solemn in its passing.
Perhaps because we know another year is going to start and wonder what it will hold. Maybe because Christmas is nearly over and all the beauty of Christmas is put away and the world will be back to normal. No more joyous greetings of *Merry Christmas and Happy New Year*, the lights are taken down, and people return to their less happy mood of normal living.
No longer do we remember the poor or the down trodden as we did during the Holidays. The feeling of goodwill to all men seems to disappear and melt into the normal routine of daily living. As if Christ was wrapped up and neatly put away in his crush set for another year. The happy festivities are all gone. Some people continue them on for a little while longer to the 12th day of Christmas with 12th night parties. Which are fun and remember the wise men that came to bring their gifts to baby Jesus. 12th night is also known as Epiphany. But mostly New Years is an end and a beginning of something new. Those are just thoughts, in reality I have not ever been sure why it is a rather sad time of year, but the fact is, maybe it is because another chapter in our lives has come to a close and indeed it has .. For Auld Lang Syne.. for Old Times Past, but time passes. It waits for no one, and folds into a New Year. So take the cup and drink it up for Auld Lang Syne. Wishing you a wonderful 2012 filled with immeasurable blessings and a wonderful future. HAPPY NEW YEAR! By Connie Hull
