Adam Mitchel Lambert was born in Indianapolis, USA on 29th January 1992 to parents Eber and Leila. He has a younger brother, Neil. The family moved to San Diego, California when Adam was a baby.Adam attended junior musical theatre groups from around the age of ten and his first main part was Linus in the Lyceum Theater's production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in San Diego. He took voice lessons and went on to appear in more musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease and Chess at local theatres. In 2004 Adam was making a name for himself and he played the part of Joshua in The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre alongside film actor Val Kilmer. He also began regular performances in The Zodiac Show, and this was where he began to get noticed for his outstanding vocals and stage presence. He began writing his own music and formed a band with friend Monte Pittman called The Citizen Vein. Adam's most recent job before American Idol was as the understudy to Fiyero in the Los Angeles play Wicked at the Pantages Theater.In August 2009 he auditioned for American Idol, Series 8 and went through to Hollywood week and then the Top 13. During his run on the show he managed to obtain the first ever standing ovation from Simon Cowell for his performance of Gary Jules' Mad World.Adam made it to the American Idol final with friend and room mate Kris Allen. During the finale he performed with Kiss and Queen. Kris went on to win but being runner up has not stopped Adam from embarking on his dream career.He is currently signed to RCA Records and his debut album For Your Entertainment was released on November 23rd 2009. Adam is about to embark on international promotion for his album and is due in the UK in April this year.
