In the silence I wait for the words, these shadows casting ever so further beneath me. Silence, that's all I've been able to focus on, the silence. The artist inside of me, grasping out at every bit of sanity, trying to hold onto its very existence. Those old broken pencils, suddenly hold meaning as they cause the shadows to grow. There are tears staining the ink and the pencil shavings have long sense been blown away. Before I can grasp the still image a shadow comes to redirect. Perhaps it is the young artist I stare down, that refuses to look back. What could they see, to cause these shadows to grow.
