Easter is a Christian Catholic celebration of Christ ressurection from the dead.At Easter we see signs of new life all around us.These signs remind us that Jesus was raised from the dead to new life.We call this the Resurrection of Jesus.We praise God for raising Jesus from the dead.Alleluia " Praise the Lord."Every Sunday of the year is a little Easter.We sing,we rest,we enjoy one another.All year long,we praise and thank God for all His blessings. ~ The Easter Bunny ~ The Easter Bunny is a mythological rabbit who brings gifts and candy to children on the Easter holiday,most likely a pre Christian customs honoring the fertility goddess "Eastre" .According to an ancient folklore the word "Easter " comes from a pagan goddess of the spring named "Eastre".According to the legend,Eastre once saved a bird whose wings had frozen during the winter by turning it into a rabbit.Because the rabbit had once been a bird,it could still lay eggs and that rabbit became the modern "Easter Bunny".The ancient customs of coloring eggs is not known ,typically some cultures dye their Easter eggs red,the color of blood in recognition of the renewal of life in springtime and later the blood of the sacriftced Christ.Some also use the color green in honor of the new foliage emerging after a long dead time of winter.Eggs like rabbits and hares are symbols of fertility of antiquity.The traditon has been introduced to the U.S. in the 1800 by the German immigrants.According to the legend,only good children received gifts of colored eggs…Thus the legend of the Easter Bunny came to life to this very day…Happy Easter Egg hunting Kiddies and Happy Blessed Easter Celebration this Sunday.Thank You All!(4/10/09)
