I like the show, but I have my moments of ire and irritation at all the avoidance of real issues between gay men and straight women, which i do know a little bit about. I think the writers and producers of Will & Grace could be a bit more brave and stop doing just whats easy, instead of what might affect some real change in the average persons thinking. I like all the main characters...the relationships are interesting, and fun, that is...when I'm not cringing! Even my closest gay friends never really seemed comfortable touching me beyond a quick hug, and I think the way they write in all this psysicality between the gay & straight folks is kinda ridiculous. (I still enjoy the show, when i catch it) We need more shows about LGBT, that are not just on LOGO channel. |

(I still enjoy the show, when i catch it)" I don't quite understand this. My gay friends were rather touchy people. Everyone in my group of friends is rather huggy and close. I had one friend, he was rather, how he'd word it "fluffy" and constantly joked about his "moobs" (man boobs) being bigger than the girls, and everyone was constantly squeezing breasts exclaiming, "They so aren't bigger!" They hug, hold hands... A lot of people in our group, especially those who are gay, can be very affectionate, yes, even to straight people. That never threw me off, infact, Jack always squeezing Karen's boobs cracked me up, because that's SO what Garon would do with close female friends. He's also as flambouyant, so, I like that they have Will, who acts, how most people would word it "your average man", while they don't avoid that there ARE people like Jack. The show was meant to be fun, and appropiate for various audiences... A show that could be aired during the day and not 3 in the morning on one of those paid channels. Which, it opened the door for THOSE more extreme shows to happen. |

I am sick tonight so im gonna keep it real simple...this is Los Angeles...& maybe they thought I was a fag hag er sumthing, hahaha Who knows why almost all my gay pals seemed repulsed by feminine "parts" & touchy feely stuff with us girls, I know it wasnt me because i was pretty darned attractive when i was hanging out with lots of gay guys (AA & NA Meeting places in Silverlake near Hollywood)! Plus, Everyone is different, and may have vastly different experiences with people, and with the experiences i had...watching that particular television show made it seem pretty much lacking in realistic overtones. (Maybe there is just more ICK factor in LA, than where you are from.) People can be realy snarky here, on average. |
