THANK YOU BLINGEE TEAM!

I would love for the blingee team to make these 2 different genre's of art into 2 different competitions, EMO AND GOTH).

I know this is an unusual request, but I find that the EMO competition is more of a teenage genre while the Gothic competition has a more mature audience in their 20's and up..

I think everyone would be happier...

IF YOU AGREE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THESE INTO SEPARATE COMPETITIONS, PLEASE POST A COMMENT ON THE PETITION TO THE BLINGEE TEAM.

THANKS!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EMO AND GOTH?

It is important to note that the emo and goth subcultures are two separate and distinct subgroups. There is, thus, a very real and very tangible difference between emo and goth. The simple difference is an absolute difference in ideology. They do not think the same and thus they are not the same.

In fact, they are entirely different. The emo subculture is based on the outpouring of emotion that I have talked about in the past. Their theories are thus based around emotional feelings: love, hate, and whatnot. The goth culture is much more based on darkness and the contrast in dark and light.

Goths are spooky, emo kids are angry and depressed.

Goth is in many ways about finding beauty, romance, and decadence in dark or unexpected places. While emo seems to be more about expressing (or, in fact, wallowing in) one’s own sad and angry emotions rather than looking for the darkly beautiful.

Definitely agree with this as goth and emo are two completely different things entirely..believe me if you called an emo a goth you'd get a lot of trouble and vice versa. In a nutshell to explain this:

EMO was originally a nickname for "emotive hardcore" (which is/was a type of music), but has evolved into meaning "emotional" because it was misinterpreted, since fans of this music were ususally known for being a bunch of depressed-self-harming-teens with too much free time. It's all stereotypical. But this is what it's known for now. An emo person (like I said stereotypical) would be very depressed, hate the world, including themselves and portrayed to cry all the time. Usually "emo" kids dress in skinny jeans, dark colors (NOT ALL BLACK!!!), band tee shirts etc.

GOTHIC was originally used to descibe works of architecture and also art that were seen as "very dark images", which is the meaning, hence how it now descibes people we call "goth" who were often depicted in the works.
Gothic is now used as an adjective is ususally used to describe people who wear all, or mostly black. They're portrayed as gloomy. And people think that they do some sort of devil worship which is totally untrue and most are Wiccan which is wicca a divine religion of paganism at one with mother earth kind of religion. (not devil worship or anything at all like that as often thought). They're sometimes depressed, but everyone can get depressed, so that doesn't really count. Gothic style is all or mostly black, dark colours, heavy eyeliner, black or odd colored hair. This too can all be stereotypical. Like you can dress "goth" and not worship wiccan, or without so much make-up, in both counts down to personal choice.

But an emo is an emo, and a goth is a goth.
