Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease which may attack any or all systems in the body. The cells become confused and start attacking all cells, good ones included. This can become critical if the wrong body systems are attacked. Complications from Lupus can be deadly. Symptoms might include nail changes where beneath the nail becomes red and puffy, or a butterfly rash may appear across the face, below the eyes and across the bridge of the nose, or joints may become sore. This is usually bilaterally, where both sides of the body are affected at the same time. As is with Rheumatoid Arthritis, there is generally no permanent joint damage because of Lupus. Be safe, and be aware of Lupus Symptoms.
