Lent Joyful226

Today is Ash Wednesday and the first day of Lent. A time of fasting and prayer 40 days before Easter. In this creation there is much symbolism. The Lilies show Christ's purity and Glory in the risen Christ. The purple background for royalty and also can be used for waiting while the world sat in darkness. The candles bring light into a dark world as Christ brings Gods glorious bright and shinning light into the world. The gold candle is our riches and glory in the Lord. The incense burning represents Christ priesthood, the evergreen is eternal life in Christ, The Cross of course His death and resurrection for all that believe in him might be saved and have eternal life with him. The roses on the table signify Jesus with the red for the blood he shed for us. The grapes for Christ is the new wine. The wine for the blood he shed. The pretzels were made for Lent originally and the shape of them are to show folded hands in prayer and are made out of an unleavened bread used for Lent. The salmon for the fish often eaten during Lent but also Jesus told us to make fishers of men. The cup represent life and all the good and bad that happens in it as Jesus asks each of us to take up his cup and drink from it so we can follow him. The Dove signifies the holy spirit, the butterfly New life in Christ. For only as we die to this life can we emerge from our cocoon as a beautiful butterfly and appreciate a new and beautiful life in Christ. The Angel for "And God Shall give his angels charge over you" And the angels that sat outside the tomb on Resurrection Day. My name came off of this one but it all works. :) Which is just fine for it is to God's Glory this creation was made. As we enter this Holy season of Lent may this creation help remind us,of all our Savior has done for us,"Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace good will toward men." Connie
