Friday is May Day it seems to be a mostly forgotten holiday mainly for political reasons but I won't go into that. However my school and family when I was growing up didn't stop this fun time of year. There is so much fun was had on May Day. It was the time when spring flowers are in bloom you know the April Showers do bring May flowers. When I was a little girl we use to make May Baskets they could be made out of anything from baby jars to milk cartons. One year we made them at school out of a 1 pt milk carton we put construction paper around it to make it prettier, Then made a construction paper handle. But no flowers those we would get at home when school was out. When I got home I told my Mom I would like to give it grandma. So we gathered some flowers Mama had some floral oasis so she wet it down good and we put flowers in the oasis. Then we drove over to my Grandma and Grandpa's. We went up to her front door and put the flower basket down at the door ring her door bell then we ran and hid. Well we did hide but then again we got" busted". Grandma spied us hiding and invited us in for cookies and ice tea, along with some great conversion. It was a wonderful and unforgettable day for a little 6 or 7 year old girl. We did call out to her "Happy May Day" when we were discovered. In this creation the little girl is bringing flowers. Do you think she will be get busted too and be found out?
